The Sack Filling Company

David Harrison Handling Solutions has been appointed exclusive distributors for vegetable bagging and handling equipment manufactured by the Sack Filling Company* of Braintree, Essex.

Having a 30-year history with the directors of the Sack Filling Company our relationship is second to none and we look forward to establishing these innovative blue machines across the UK says Gary Palmer of David Harrison.
The range was launched on Harrison’s stand at Lamma 2013 and attracted a lot of interest. This is now converting into sales.

The Sack Filling Company was established in 2012 by Kevin Monk, Ian Golds and Lee Rodgers, all of whom had previously worked for Morray Engineering when the company was based in Braintree.

In fact, Kevin’s father Tony designed the original Walthambury weighing, bagging and sack closing systems and is still retained as a consultant working on program upgrades and general engineering matters. Between them, the team have over 130 years of experience, impressive for a ‘new’ company!

The new range comprises bagging and weighing machines (10-25Kg), a pre-pack unit, sealing systems with medium/heavy duty stitchers and a range of options including sack presenters and placers, powered in-feed belt and conveyors.

“We are delighted with the new machines says, Gary. We can now offer a fully integrated line for anyone handling potatoes and other root vegetables, from high accuracy weighing and bagging to labour-saving palletisers.
